Cleaning
In most cases, it will be sufficient to use a brush for cleaning the mill; a short burst of high speed running without the screen may help. A rod is supplied for cleaning the grooves in the lining. Any residue there can be scraped forward and any in the grooves pushed towards the rear plate into the circular gap and then down through the outlet. A hook with a curved handle, also supplied with the mill, may be useful for pulling out the screens The cleaning utensils include a thin wire for freeing blocked holes in the screens, although it may be quicker to use a stiff brush. Solvents should not be used for cleaning the mill, as they may have a detrimental effect on the rubber sealing gasket on the door. If unsuitable grinding substances are passed through the mill, causing the interior to become clogged to such an extent that the residue can not be removed with a brush, then it will be quicker to remove the hammers and the lining and wash them with tap water.
